Five minutes with Tasha, GeoSmart’s marketing apprentice in her first month

At GeoSmart, we’re excited to welcome Natasha Frater as our new marketing apprentice. As she embarks on her journey towards achieving a Level 3 Marketing and Level 4 CIM qualification, we took a moment to catch up with Tasha and hear about her first month with us.

Tell us about yourself

My name’s Tasha and I recently joined GeoSmart Information as a marketing apprentice. I spent the last two years studying for my A-levels then working in retail. Over this time I explored potential career paths which would utilise my existing skills and interests. Marketing stood out to me as I’ve always enjoyed writing, particularly creative and persuasive styles, which is a key part of marketing.

I am completing my apprenticeship while working at GeoSmart, with the provider The Marketing Trainer. This involves monthly modules covering the marketing curriculum required for the level 3 multi-channel marketing and level 4 CIM qualification.

What do you hope to achieve during your apprenticeship?

Over the next 14 months, through a combination of theoretical work and on-the-job training, I am looking to gain insights into all aspects of marketing, from understanding audiences and trends, to undertaking campaigns, competitor analysis and strategy.

What has your experience been like so far?

Everyone at Geosmart has been extremely welcoming, with my line manager, Lily, being really supportive. There’s a great work ethic, and I feel lucky to be surrounded by people who are passionate about what they do.

Over my first month, I have already developed an understanding of the role of marketing in business. I have started to analyse data, explore marketing strategies and investigate the world of digital advertising. My responsibilities have also included handling enquiries for our CPD services and arranging marketing to introduce our upcoming content. I look forward to discovering what’s next to learn in the industry.

Looking for a new challenge?

GeoSmart is always looking for ways to strengthen and diversify its team. Attracting the next generation of talent in a variety of ways is a huge part of this. For that reason, we can offer a number of apprenticeship programmes including marketing, sales and business administration. Keep an eye on our careers page for upcoming vacancies.
