A business development executive is required to help drive growth in sales of our environmental reports, data and services to the property market; comprising Architectural Practices, Planning Consultants and Property Developers. The successful applicant will be incentivized to support new client acquisition and arrange meetings with target clients for our senior technical team. Existing contacts within architectural and planning practices will be an advantage.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role will support the business development and sales management process. Previous roles will have given the person an understanding of the property sector and professional services. The role will be field based with regular visits to our head office in Shrewsbury. We are offering a full time position but may consider a part time role for the right candidate, based on a results driven incentive scheme.

Person Specification:

  • The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:
  • Sales experience in a business to business sales environment.
  • Good telephone and customer interaction skills.
  • Ability to develop a personal sales strategy with aptitude and motivation for closing deals with new clients and building long term client relationships.
  • Experience of managing and monitoring the sales process through a CRM system.
  • Confidence to develop their technical knowledge to understand the property industry and the role of environmental reports in planning and development.
  • Track record in the property sector.
Responsibilities and duties:

  • Working with the senior team to develop new business and achieve revenue growth.
  • Make regular telephone calls to qualify leads, arrange meetings and follow up sales opportunities.
  • Focus on providing an increase in new clients delivering repeat business.
  • Arrange meetings for the senior team to visit potential clients each week.
  • Travel for meetings and networking opportunities will be required
  • Prepare proposals and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Help manage the sales process through use of the company CRM system, monitor tasks and follow up on client meetings.
  • Help manage relationships with existing key clients.
  • Support our digital marketing strategy and produce sales and marketing collateral.
  • Identify business opportunities by qualifying leads and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analysing sales options.
