GeoSmart Information launches to provide smarter environmental thinking

With climate change posing an ever-more challenging risk to infrastructure and property development UK-wide, GeoSmart Information has been launched to transform the way property professionals manage the impact of future environmental risk.

Formerly known as Envirep, GeoSmart is a sister company of ESI, one of the UK’s leading environmental consultancies. With extensive expertise in water, land and sustainable development, they have brought together a suite of services that offer smarter analysis on both the suitability, and sustainability, of development schemes.

GeoSmart’s reports provide architects, planning consultants, developers and self-builders with affordable, accessible and accurate environmental risk information on contaminated land, flooding and sustainable drainage.
Better understanding of the site means more suitable planning applications and a clearer identification of risks required by regulators, conveyancers and lenders. More complex site requirements can be handled by sister company ESI’s nationwide team of environmental consultants.

GeoSmart’s data products enable property information providers and insurers to add insight on groundwater flood risk for conveyancing transactions and premium calculation risks. Developers can evaluate their site portfolios more effectively and comply with new sustainable drainage requirements from local authorities for planning submissions.

GeoSmart’s Managing Director, Stuart Pearce, said:
“Climate change is forcing regulators, local authorities and lenders to look at how and where we develop and to make property more sustainable within a changing world. We have relaunched our existing environmental reports business as GeoSmart to provide an essential suite of products for property professionals that help satisfy requirements during the planning process, as well as for decisions on lending, insuring and conveyancing of property.”

“We wanted to offer our clients smarter information to help them make better, more informed decisions for the protection of property assets, of communities and for more secure transactions.  We have an exciting range of innovative and unique services that will deliver real value to property professionals, local authorities and insurers.”
