Who is it for?
Our range of consultancy services has been designed for surveyors, developers and solicitors and provides guidance for over 100,000 property transactions each year, adding value and clarity to service providers and their clients.
GeoSmart are tech partners of the Royal Chartered Institution of Surveyors (RICS) who provide guidance on environmental risks to surveyors. When owning, occupying, purchasing, selling, letting, or carrying out works on a property, it is increasingly important to consider environmental risks.
Global market participants and their lending partners now demand to know more about the factors that could affect value, particularly environmental considerations, such as:
- Contaminated Land
- Flood Risk
- Drainage
- Groundwater
As defined by RICS, GeoSmart are an Environmental Specialist and can advise on environmental risks that could affect your Site.
What is involved?
Our consultants assess the actual or potential presence of environmental risks and liabilities including:
- Identifying the risk of flooding with future climate change allowances and recognising the benefits of flood defences.
- Reviewing the drainage provision and SuDS requirements for future development.
- Establishing whether the site has a legacy of contaminated land and highlighting the options for mitigating potential risks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our dedicated team of experts will undertake an initial review of your Site to confirm environmental constraints, including contaminated land, flood risk and drainage, using geological mapping and other environmental datasets.
Our findings will be presented in a brief report, and you will also have the option to discuss the results and any further recommendations with a consultant.
GeoSmart can provide more detailed reports on several environmental risk factors through our Environmental Reports.
We can also recommend suppliers and associate organisations for further work that we cannot undertake such as on-site Investigation.
